About David

David Carver began his career in hairdressing over 17 years ago in San Francisco at Zenzi's Beauty Academy. He has professionally trained at Vidal Sassoon and Nicholas Studio. He has continued his education by attending Pivot Point Haircutting and Redken Advanced hair coloring classes.

He continues to expand his education by attending classes, seminars, and hair shows throughout each year; believing that you can never stop learning and mastering your craft. In addition to his cosmetology license, David has acquired state board teaching credentials. When David is not behind the chair at Gino For Hair, he can be found teaching as an instructor at Zenzi's Beauty Academy. Teaching Freshmen and Senior students in the Pivot Point Haircutting System in the classroom and supervising the clinic floor. David has a passion for precision hair cutting, color and highlighting. Skilled at listening and interpreting his clients desires, he uses Redken, Rusk, and I.Color products.

David's specialties are diverse, including highlighting and low lighting to glazing; clipper and razor cuts to styling long hair, wigs and hairpieces. David is skilled with a variety of perm techniques and loves the challenge of taming coarse, curly, frizzy or flyaway hair, both long and short.

David's Dedication to Kids

One of David's proudest triumphs is his volunteer work for kids with cancer. David has been involved with the nonprofit Wigs for Kids since 2004 and held a salon fundraiser to benefit children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and medical conditions. David travels to hospitals in the Bay Area to measure young patients for wigs made of human hair that he cuts and styles. In 2009 David was an honored recipient of the Wigs for Kids Mark of Distinction Award.
